You can nominate a corporate or independent home or vote for one of the homes on the list of runners and riders compiled from the Care Quality Commission's reports.
Every home so far nominated has, this year, been slammed by the regulator for delivering 'Inadequate' care to older people. The reports are full of heart-breaking revelations about the squalid and miserable conditions endured by some of our most vulnerable citizens in care homes the length and breadth of the country.
From the far North to the South Coast from Eastern England to the West Country, every part of the country is represented.
Poor care has not just been confined to basic homes either, proving once again that appearances are not everything. High-end, costly establishments, boasting cinemas have been named as 'Inadequate' by the regulator, alongside
dilapidated piles infested with rats.
